A well-established manufacturing operation in the Richmond, Virginia area is seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor to lead day-to-day floor operations, uphold safety and quality standards, and support meaningful production growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct production floor activity across the 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM shift
- Monitor and enforce safety, quality, and production performance standards
- Hold operators and leads accountable to daily output targets and work instructions
- Support OSHA, environmental, and safety compliance; participate in incident investigation and corrective action
- Coordinate material flow, shipping throughput, and shift handoffs to maintain continuity
- Ensure accurate ERP entries for production, inventory postings, and receiving throughout the shift
- Coach and develop operators and leads to improve engagement, skills, and performance
- Communicates shift status, issues, and needs to plant leadership and cross-functional teams
Ideal Background
- 3–6 years of production or manufacturing experience, including supervisory responsibility
- Prior experience as a Production Supervisor, Lead, or Team Lead in a manufacturing environment
- Background in chemical, coatings, inks, or batch/process manufacturing preferred
- Exposure to continuous improvement initiatives and throughput or efficiency projects
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems for production, inventory, and receiving transactions
- Track record of supporting safety compliance and improving workforce accountability
- Strong communication skills and consistent floor presence
