A manufacturer of plastic parts in the Erie, PA area is seeking a Production Manager for a full-time, direct hire role. This individual will direct and guide a production department towards continuous improvement in quality and productivity. This role will oversee overall production output and goals, ensure safety and quality standards are met, coach and direct a team, motivate and lead others, help to train new hires, and manage performance issues within the department.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and evaluate entire production process for the department
- Contribute to production planning and budgeting
- Lead and monitor quality assessments to ensure customer satisfaction
- Maintain a safe production environment
- Coordinate with key internal and external production stakeholders
- Monitor productivity of the department and ensure production goals are met
- Help manage the budget for the department and evaluate the purchasing of new equipment, analyze retooling, productivity, and quality improvements
- Perform related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree, or equivalent experience in production management role
- 2 years of production management or leadership experience
- Experience in a plastics manufacturing environment is strongly preferred
- Strong organizational and managerial skills
- Strong understanding of production planning and budgeting, safety and quality standards, and KPI's used in manufacturing environment
- Experience supervising others and motivating and leading a team
- Proficiency in MS Office and an ERP system
- Strong teamwork, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
