Pay rate: Up to $48/hr $180 per diem available for non-local employees.

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Pipefitter to join our dynamic team. Responsible for fitting pipe consisting of various materials such as steel, galvanized, copper, copper-nickel and stainless along with the appropriate valves and fittings, utilizing various tools and equipment in accordance with drawing, arrangements and blue prints. Shipyard production areas at times involve working at  different  heights, confined spaces, different weather conditions as well as multiple shifts 24 hours a day. As with most every position in the shipyard, a Pipefitter may be required to work either day or night dependent upon the number of ships under construction at any one point in time.

Duties

• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately assemble piping systems
• Fit, assemble, and install pipes using hand tools, power tools, pipe threading machines, calipers, and tube bending equipment
• Conduct pipe threading, soldering, and assembly of plumbing and HVAC systems according to ASME codes & standards
• Rigging pipes and components for installation or maintenance on ships or maritime facilities
• Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues with pipelines and perform routine maintenance or repairs
• Adhere to safety protocols while working on construction sites or manufacturing environments

Qualifications

·    Minimum 4 Yrs. shipyard trade experience

·    Basic math, reading and comprehension skills

·    Knowledge of the layout, fit-up, fabrication and installation of pipe, flanges and valves

·    Read and interpret trade drawings and/or blueprints utilizing both metric and standard measurements
