Responsibilities
- Process payroll accurately and efficiently using payroll software.
- Maintain and reconcile payroll records, including journal entries, account reconciliation, and general ledger accounting to ensure data integrity.
- Administer employee benefits programs and assist with benefits administration tasks related to payroll deductions and enrollments.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable related to payroll expenses, ensuring proper coding and documentation.
- Perform detailed analysis of payroll data to identify discrepancies or errors; resolve issues promptly through double entry bookkeeping and technical accounting practices.
- Prepare reports on payroll expenses, tax filings, and other financial documentation required for compliance with governmental regulations.
- Execute account reconciliation tasks such as debits & credits entries, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliation to maintain accurate financial records.
- Support administrative functions including data entry tasks such as 10 key typing and maintaining organized filing systems for payroll documents.
Skills
- Proficiency with payroll management software in
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles such as double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger accounting.
- Experience with financial software systems used in corporate or non-profit settings; familiarity with QuickBooks is a plus.
- Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy; ability to perform 10 key typing efficiently.
- Understanding of benefits administration processes within a human resources context.
- Knowledge of tax regulations related to payroll processing and governmental accounting standards.
- Ability to analyze complex financial data accurately; strong attention to detail is essential.
