POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Part-Time Accountant to join our team. This position offers flexible scheduling and is ideal for an accounting professional with a strong background in full charge bookkeeping and accounting systems. Compensation is commensurate with experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform full charge bookkeeping functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, and bank reconciliations.
- Maintain and manage the General Ledger (G/L), including posting journal entries and ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Perform account reconciliations on a regular and timely basis, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Utilize Peachtree/Sage accounting software as the primary accounting platform for all financial data entry and reporting.
- Prepare and review trial balances on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, ensuring accuracy and proper classification of all accounts prior to financial statement preparation.
- Prepare complete and accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and statements of cash flows, in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Coordinate with the external tax accountant to provide timely and organized financial data, trial balances, and supporting schedules necessary for tax return preparation and filing.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for tax accountant inquiries, ensuring accurate and prompt delivery of requested documentation and records.
- Assist with internal and external audit preparation, including organizing supporting documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis as needed.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, policies, and procedures.
- Perform other accounting and financial duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated proficiency in Peachtree/Sage accounting software (required).
- Substantial experience in full charge bookkeeping, including G/L maintenance and account reconciliation.
- Experience with audit preparation and audit support processes.
- Strong working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities within established deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
- Experience in managerial accounting, including cost analysis, budget preparation, and financial forecasting.
- Prior experience in a law firm, professional services, or small business accounting environment.
- CPA licensure or active pursuit of CPA certification.
- Experience with payroll processing and tax filings.
