Stable, well respected Northwest side, Indianapolis manufacturer is seeking well qualified individuals to strengthen our grinding department. The position is day shift. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Basic mechanical skills
- Use of hand tools
- Locate materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders
- Understanding and use of inventory and inventory control
- Operate grinders, sanders and other powered tools
- Maintain proper care of powered tools and machinery
- Must pay close attention to create accurate finished product
- Work as member of a team
- Communicate with other employees and departments about work related processes
- Keep work areas clean and safe
- Use company ERP system
- Additional related duties as required
JOB REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS
- Must be able to use basic hand tools
- Must have basic mechanical skills
- Ability to understand and use inventory control system
- Must be able to read and interpret information in work orders
- Ability to learn the use of grinders, sanders and other power tools
- Good attention to detail
- Must observe safety and environmental rules and regulations at all times
- Ability to learn tasks quickly
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Able to use basic hand tools
- Prior manufacturing experience, a plus
- Basic computer experience with windows based products
- Inventory control experience, a plus
- Ability to use company ERP system
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Ability to lift 20-50 lbs. continuously
- Ability to work in non-air conditioned manufacturing environment
- Constant standing
- Frequent bending and stooping
- Clean work environment
- Exposure to noise, dust, and airborne particles
- Tools provided
- Safety training and other required PPE provided
- Must submit to pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check
