Responsibilities
- Collect and process biological specimens through venipuncture, blood sampling, and other collection techniques, adhering to strict aseptic procedures
- Conduct laboratory tests
- Extract RNA, isolate DNA, and perform blood banking procedures with precision and attention to detail
- Manage laboratory data efficiently using Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and ensure accurate documentation of all test results
- Perform routine laboratory techniques such as specimen preparation, blood banking, physiology assessments, and blood sampling for clinical trials or diagnostic testing
- Maintain strict adherence to laboratory protocols, safety standards, and quality control measures including aseptic techniques and proper specimen handling
- Support laboratory management by organizing supplies, maintaining equipment calibration, and ensuring compliance with hospital or clinical laboratory regulations
Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and laboratory procedures
- Proficiency in data management, analysis skills, and interpretation of test results
- Experience with molecular biology techniques such as RNA extraction, DNA isolation, PCR amplification, ELISA assays, and flow cytometry
- Familiarity with laboratory management systems (LIMS) for tracking specimens and data
- Hands-on experience in clinical laboratories or research settings involving specimen collection/processing and assay execution
- Excellent venipuncture skills including phlebotomy and blood banking techniques
- Ability to perform vital signs assessment and maintain sterile aseptic environments during procedures
- Knowledge of healthcare environment operations related to laboratory workflows and medical terminology
