This position ensures the integrity of financial reporting, develops and maintains robust internal controls, and delivers actionable financial insights to support operational and strategic decision-making in a fast-paced, PE-driven environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Lead and actively manage daily accounting operations, maintaining a hands-on role across general ledger, close, and reporting processes
· Design and optimize the accounting organization to support growth, scalability, and private equity reporting requirements
· Produce timely, accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and PE sponsor expectations
· Drive a disciplined and efficient monthly close process, including preparation and review of journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
· Develop, maintain, and continuously improve standard cost accounting systems, including:
o Inventory valuation and cost layers
o Bills of material (BOM) and routings
o Labor and overhead absorption
o Purchase price and manufacturing variances
· Analyze and report manufacturing variances (labor, material, overhead, scrap, yield), and partner with operations to drive cost improvements
· Establish and regularly review job costing and product costing, ensuring accuracy and alignment with operational realities
· Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecasting processes, incorporating operational drivers and PE value creation plans
· Perform detailed variance analysis vs. budget/forecast and communicate key drivers to executive leadership and PE stakeholders
· Monitor and analyze trends in costs, pricing, margins, and operational performance metrics
· Provide financial modeling and analysis to support:
o Capital investments and capacity expansion
o Pricing strategies and margin improvement
o Customer contracts and long-term agreements
· Maintain and enhance internal controls and accounting policies to ensure audit readiness and compliance
· Coordinate audits and act as primary liaison with external auditors and PE finance teams
· Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring strong working capital management
· Maintain fixed asset accounting, including capital project tracking and depreciation
· Own and maintain ERP integrity, including cost modules and inventory systems
· Maintain a well-documented and scalable system of accounting policies, procedures, and controls
· Support due diligence, lender reporting, and other private equity-related financial requirements
· Assist with select HR-related administrative processes (e.g., benefits coordination, employee inquiries) as needed
· Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff while fostering a high-performance, accountable team culture
· Perform other duties as assigned in support of business objectives

Qualifications
· Strong background in cost accounting within manufacturing
· Experience in a private equity-backed company or similarly performance-driven environment strongly preferred
· Demonstrated success in building and improving accounting processes and controls
· Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (manufacturing/cost modules required) and Microsoft Excel
· Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
Education and/or Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
· Minimum 8–10 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including leadership roles
· Prior experience in standard costing, inventory accounting, and manufacturing finance required
Language Skills
· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial and operational reports, contracts, and technical procedures
· Ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to diverse audiences
Reasoning Ability
· Ability to solve complex, multi-variable problems in a dynamic manufacturing environment
· Strong judgment in interpreting financial data and operational impacts
Computer Skills
· Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (modeling, analysis, data manipulation)
· Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar manufacturing platforms)
· Familiarity with reporting and BI tools is a plus
Pay: $150,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
