A preeminent Upstate New York firm, is seeking an attorney to join its established Litigation Practice Group in its Syracuse office. Candidates must be admitted to practice in New York. While newly admitted attorneys are welcome to apply, preference will be given to those with litigation experience.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general litigation areas. Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing all phases of litigation, including discovery, motion practice, depositions and trial preparation;
- Conducting legal research and drafting pleadings, motions, briefs and other legal documents;
- Communicating effectively with clients, counsel and other personnel;
- Participating in depositions, hearings and court proceedings;
- Maintaining case files and managing deadlines.
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school;
- Admission to the New York State Bar (or eligible for admission);
- Litigation experience preferred, but not required;
- Strong research, writing and analytical skills;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Commitment to professional development and client service.
