The Lead Medical Technologist assists in ensuring Lab Services functions in an efficient and optimal manner, ensuring high-quality, accurate, timely results. 

Essential Functions / Job Duties: 

1. Assists in the planning and/or coordination of daily activities of the lab personnel. Communicates performance concerns to Lab Director 

1. Perform moderate and high complexity testing as defined by the CLIA 1988, including pre-analytic and post-anaylitic testing. 

1. Assists with the orientation and training of lab personnel and students 

1. Correlates abnormal data to determine validity, following up if needed with additional testing 

1. Participates in performance improvement activities and management of lab data 

1. Other duties as assigned 

1. Demonstrates working knowledge of AIDET, utilizing with each patient interaction

1. Regular, reliable attendance is required to ensure the highest level of patient care 

1. Follows hospital safety and quality standards and expectations, as it pertains to job performance and patient care

• Bachelors Degree
• (MLS) Medical Laboratory Scientist, or (MT-AAB) Medical Technologist must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in accredited lab setting and 2 years technical experience
