Laboratory Accessioner

Job Summary
Join our team as a Laboratory Accessioner, where you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient processing of specimens and samples. As a Laboratory Accessioner, you will be responsible for accurately receiving, labeling, and documenting specimens, supporting laboratory operations, and maintaining high standards of safety and quality. This is a part-time role with hours from 10am-2pm Tuesday-Friday.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming specimens and samples from clinical or research sources, ensuring proper handling and documentation.
• Accurately label and log specimens into laboratory information systems, maintaining traceability throughout the process.
• Prepare specimens for testing by performing initial processing steps such as centrifugation, aliquoting, or preservation as required.
• Follow strict aseptic techniques during specimen handling to prevent contamination and ensure sample integrity.
• Collaborate with laboratory staff to prioritize workloads, schedule specimen processing, and ensure timely delivery of samples for testing.
• Maintain detailed records of specimen receipt, processing activities, and storage conditions in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Assist with inventory management of laboratory supplies and reagents related to specimen accessioning.

Skills

• Knowledge of laboratory management principles and procedures.
• Proficiency in laboratory techniques including specimen collection, processing, and storage.
• Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and related concepts relevant to laboratory work.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for record keeping and specimen tracking.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week

Work Location: In person
