Intermodal Fabricator / Mechanic

Position Summary:

We are looking to hire a full-time Intermodal Fabricator / Mechanic who are responsible for repairing the mechanical parts of trucks, trailers, & chassis

DUTIES:

• Perform preventative maintenance service and inspections.
• Diagnose and provide quick response for equipment failure
• Maintain and repair all equipment to include electrical, wheels, tires, brakes, axles, suspension, body, etc.
• Must supply own tools, toolbox, and air tools.
• Follow company procedures. Ensure a safe work environment.
• Responsible for performing all job duties with honesty and integrity.
• Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy.
• Examines assigned unit to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
• Communicates with service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
• Maintain accurate records of each repair performed on vehicles

QUALIFICATIONS

• Be physically fit to lift, bend, and work with both manual and power tools (100 pound lifting requirement).
• A high school education is expected.
• Tire Mount / Dismount Experience (preferred)
• Perform air brake service and maintenance (preferred)
• Intermediate welding skills desired (such as Oxy/Acetylene, MIG, and ARC). (requirement)
• Minimum age 18
• Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
• Minimum of 3 years hands-on fleet mechanical experience.
• Knowledge of diagnostic tools and equipment a must.
• Desire to have a career path in Fleet and/or Maintenance Management.
• Must speak fluent English. Bilingual (spanish)
