Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Interim Director of Nursing to lead our nursing team during a transitional period. This contract role requires a dynamic professional with extensive experience in nursing administration, skilled in managing clinical staff in a long-term care, skilled nursing facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong management capabilities, a thorough understanding of long-term care regulations, survey process, team building, and a passion for elevating resident care standards.
**Must hold a valid Massachusetts Registered Nurse license
**Locations include West Newton & Plymouth
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight of nursing operations across all departments, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies.
- Supervise and mentor nursing staff, fostering a positive environment that promotes professional growth and high-quality resident care.
- Develop and implement effective care plans tailored to individual residents’ needs, incorporating best practices in physiology and anatomy knowledge.
- Oversee the management of medical records, documentation review, and adherence to HIPAA regulations to protect resident privacy.
- Coordinate shift management to ensure adequate staffing levels while maintaining optimal resident-to-staff ratios for safety and quality assurance.
- Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems efficiently for accurate documentation and reporting.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with Medicare requirements, MDS assessments, and care standards for diverse healthcare services including hospice and home health.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited school.
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a current MA license in good standing, required.
- Hold a current CPR certification & ICP certification
- At least five years’ experience in long-term care setting, with 3-5 years as Director of Nursing.
- Strong knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long term care.
- Strong communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills including Point Click Care.
The position is a 1099 Independent Contract role. If travel is required, some expenses will be reimburseable or included with rate.
