Position Summary
The Inside Sales Parts Specialist is responsible for assisting customers with parts inquiries, processing orders, maintaining inventory accuracy, and providing exceptional customer service. This role serves as a key point of contact for customers, technicians, and vendors, ensuring timely and accurate parts identification, pricing, ordering, and delivery coordination. This position will work closely with the outside sales team to coordinate incoming orders and ensure orders are entered properly.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to customer inquiries by phone, email, and in person regarding parts availability, pricing, and specifications.
- Identify and recommend the correct parts based on customer needs, equipment models, and technical information.
- Prepare and process sales orders, quotes, invoices, and purchase orders. This includes pulling some parts and may require assembly.
- Maintain accurate records of customer transactions and inventory activity.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to source parts and monitor order status.
- Follow up on customer requests, back orders, and delivery schedules.
- Support inventory management activities, including receiving, stocking, cycle counts, and inventory reconciliation.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships to encourage repeat business.
- Meet sales goals and contribute to department revenue growth.
- Collaborate with service technicians and other departments to ensure efficient operations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in parts sales, customer service, retail sales, automotive, heavy equipment, industrial equipment, or related field preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to identify parts using catalogs, diagrams, and computer systems.
- Proficiency with computer applications, inventory software, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move parts weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Manual dexterity to handle inventory and operate office equipment.
