Hotel Maintenance Technician / Handyman

Pay: $20.00–$23.00 per hour, based on experience
SpringHill Suites by Marriott in Freeport, Maine is seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Technician / Handyman to join our team.
We are looking for someone who enjoys working with their hands, troubleshooting problems, and taking pride in keeping a property safe, functional, and well maintained. Hotel experience is preferred but not required. Candidates with experience in general maintenance, apartment maintenance, construction, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or similar trades are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities
- Perform daily repairs and preventative maintenance.
- Maintain guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
- Troubleshoot and repair PTAC/HVAC units.
- Complete basic plumbing and electrical repairs.
- Repair drywall, paint, and perform basic carpentry.
- Repair doors, locks, furniture, fixtures, and hardware.
- Replace lighting and complete routine property inspections.
- Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests.
- Complete and document work orders.
- Assist with renovations and property improvement projects.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas.
- Follow Marriott standards and company safety procedures.
- Assist other hotel departments as needed.
Qualifications
- General maintenance or building repair experience.
- Basic plumbing and electrical knowledge.
- Experience with painting, drywall, and minor carpentry.
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills.
- Dependable with a strong work ethic.
- Able to work independently and prioritize tasks.
- Good communication and customer-service skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and safely use ladders and tools.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
Hotel maintenance, HVAC/EPA certification, CPO certification, and experience with Quore or similar work-order systems are a plus but not required.
