Fundraising Manager – Role Overview
The Manager is a key part of a community-focused fundraising team, helping bring year-round fundraising efforts to life and supporting local revenue goals.
In this role, you’ll spend a lot of time planning and supporting large-scale fundraising events—working with corporate teams, dedicated fundraisers, and community participants to keep them engaged and involved. You’ll also help coordinate event details and pitch in on other fundraising activities as needed.
What You Will Do
- Help plan and carry out a year-round fundraising strategy and budget to reach revenue goals
- Work closely with local, regional, and national teammates to bring fundraising ideas and engagement efforts to life
- Contribute to monthly fundraising goals across events, individual giving, corporate partnerships, and other activities while staying on track with budgets
- Support leadership with additional fundraising efforts beyond core events
- Build and grow relationships with corporate partners in the local market
- Travel within the assigned area and team up with others to strengthen and expand sponsorships
- Stay connected with key groups like top fundraisers, team captains, sponsors, and volunteers
- Find creative ways to keep participants and fundraising teams motivated and engaged
- Help keep projects on track by following timelines and best practices to meet goals
- Recruit and support volunteer committees, including leading meetings and keeping communication flowing
- Collaborate with peers across teams to support larger organizational initiatives
- Build strong connections in the community to support engagement and fundraising success
- Stay informed about programs and initiatives to better support fundraising efforts
- Jump in on internal projects and team initiatives as needed
- Take on other responsibilities as they come up
What You Will Bring
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience in fundraising, special events, with some experience in peer-to-peer fundraising
- Experience supporting revenue growth through events, sponsorships, and donor engagement
- Comfortable building partnerships and helping bring in sponsorship support
- Experience working with and motivating volunteers and community stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan ahead and follow through
- Able to connect with a variety of audiences, from corporate partners to community groups
- Comfortable juggling multiple projects and shifting priorities
- Clear and effective communicator, both written and verbal, including presenting to groups
- Familiarity with nonprofit or community-based work environments is a plus
- Self-starter who can manage their time, stay organized, and meet deadlines
- Open to travel within the assigned market (up to 30%), including some weekends, with reliable transportation
