Summit Dog and Cat Hospital is a family-owned and operated, non-corporate veterinary hospital that has proudly served the community for over a century. We are looking for an experienced, compassionate, dependable Veterinary Technician to join our team.

We are seeking a technician who is confident working independently, enjoys being part of a team, and is ready to contribute across surgery, dentistry, and patient rooms. What We're Looking For

• Minimum 3 years of veterinary technician experience
• Strong surgical and anesthesia experience
• Dental experience, including dental prophylaxis and dental radiographs
• Ability to confidently run veterinary exam rooms independently
• Ability to work independently while being a strong team player
• Compassionate, patient, and professional approach to patients and clients
• Excellent punctuality, organization, and attention to detail
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy veterinary hospital
• Excellent communication skills with doctors, supervisors, team members, and clients
• Willingness to learn new skills and continue developing professionally
• Reliable and accountable with a positive attitude

Technical Skills & Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have experience with:

• Knowledge of normal and abnormal canine and feline vital signs
• IV catheter placement
• Blood sample collection in dogs and cats
• Exotic animal experience is a plus
• Anesthesia monitoring and surgical assistance
• Surgical preparation, patient monitoring, and recovery
• Dental prophylaxis and dental radiographs
• Full-body digital radiographs
• Laboratory procedures, including:
• Blood smears
• Ear cytology
• Skin cytology
• Proper handling and knowledge of controlled substances
• Accurate controlled-drug and medication log documentation
• Excellent medical record keeping
• Client communication and education
• Safe and appropriate animal restraint
• Vaccine administration
• Instrument cleaning, packaging, and sterilization
• Assisting doctors with medical notes and patient data
• Assisting with appointments and patient flow
• Experience with Cornerstone is a plus
