We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Estimator to join our growing landscaping team. This position is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for landscape construction projects, including hardscape, irrigation, grading, and planting installations. The Senior Estimator will work closely with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and project management teams to ensure successful project planning and execution.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in landscape construction estimating, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals for landscape construction projects
- Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents to determine project scope and requirements
- Perform quantity takeoffs for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing to ensure competitive bids
- Develop budgets and cost analyses for landscape and hardscape construction projects
- Collaborate with project managers and operations teams during project handoff and pre-construction planning
- Attend site visits, pre-bid meetings, and client meetings as necessary
- Analyze project risks and identify opportunities for cost savings and value engineering
- Maintain accurate estimating records, databases, and historical cost information
- Prepare and submit bid packages within required deadlines
- Assist with contract review and project scope clarification
- Stay current on industry trends, material costs, and construction methods
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in landscape construction estimating
- Strong knowledge of landscape construction, hardscape installation, irrigation systems, grading, and site development
- Experience preparing estimates for commercial and residential landscape projects
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a Must
- Experience with commercial landscaping projects
- Knowledge of irrigation design, grading, drainage, and site work
- Experience using industry estimating software such as LMN, Aspire, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or similar platforms
- Degree or certification in Construction Management, Landscape Construction, Horticulture, or a related field preferred
