Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies and procedures aligned with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), and other relevant regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement corrective actions promptly.
- Lead incident investigations, perform root cause analysis, and prepare detailed report writing to prevent recurrence of safety issues.
- Coordinate training & development initiatives to enhance employee awareness of safety protocols, including CPR and first aid certification programs.
- Oversee workers' compensation law compliance, manage claims processes, and ensure proper documentation for all incidents.
- Promote occupational health initiatives that support worker well-being, including ergonomic assessments and wellness programs.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies during inspections or audits, ensuring full compliance with environmental and occupational safety standards.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, EPA standards, workers' compensation law, and occupational health principles.
- Proven experience in manufacturing environments with a focus on safety management.
- Excellent report writing skills for documenting incidents, audits, and compliance activities.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis effectively to identify underlying issues impacting safety or environmental performance.
- Skilled in delivering engaging training & development sessions to diverse teams on safety topics such as first aid, CPR, hazard recognition, and emergency response procedures.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, management, and regulatory agencies.
