The Electrical Designer / Drafter develops detailed electrical drawings, schematics, layouts, and construction documents for industrial projects. This role works closely with engineers, project managers, fabrication teams, and field personnel to create accurate, code-compliant designs that support project execution from design through installation and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and revise electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, panel schedules, and installation details.
- Develop layouts for power distribution, lighting, grounding, control, and low-voltage systems.
- Convert engineering concepts, sketches, and specifications into construction-ready drawings.
- Perform basic electrical calculations, including load, voltage drop, conduit fill, and panel sizing.
- Coordinate with engineering, fabrication, and field teams throughout project execution.
- Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, and applicable industry standards.
- Maintain drawing revisions, document control, and as-built documentation.
- Support installation, commissioning, and panel fabrication activities.
Qualifications
- Associate degree, technical diploma, or equivalent experience in Electrical Drafting, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of electrical design and drafting experience, preferably in industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of electrical distribution systems, control systems, and industrial installations.
- Strong understanding of NEC, NFPA, and electrical drafting standards.
Preferred Experience
- Industrial combustion systems, furnaces, kilns, or thermal processing equipment.
- PLCs, instrumentation, industrial controls, and panel fabrication.
- Manufacturing, metals, ceramics, glass, or heat-processing industries.

Work Environment
Primarily office-based with occasional travel to manufacturing facilities, fabrication shops, and project sites for field verification, meetings, and commissioning support.
Salary : $80,000 - $90,000
