Compensation: Base salary of $175,000–$225,000, depending on experience, plus performance bonuses and a strong benefits package
The Chief Executive Officer will provide strategic and operational leadership for an industrial mechanical contracting company serving clients throughout West Virginia, Virginia, and North Carolina. The CEO is responsible for setting and executing company strategy, driving profitable growth, and ensuring operational excellence, safety, and quality across all projects and job sites. This role requires a hands-on leader with deep industry knowledge who can build strong client relationships, lead a multi-state workforce, and position the company for long-term success.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute the company's strategic plan to drive growth, profitability, and market share
- Provide overall leadership and direction to senior management, including operations, estimating, sales, safety, and finance
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, industrial partners, vendors, and subcontractors
- Own financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and profit and loss (P&L) management
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, regulatory, and quality standards across all job sites
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, bids, and strategic partnerships
- Lead workforce planning and talent development to support company growth and succession planning
- Represent the company with industry associations, trade groups, and the broader community
- Foster a company culture centered on safety, integrity, craftsmanship, and customer service
- Report regularly to the Board of Directors / ownership on company performance and strategic initiatives
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (MBA preferred)
- 10 years of progressive leadership experience in industrial mechanical contracting, construction, or a related industry
- Proven track record of P&L responsibility and driving profitable growth
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical contracting operations (piping, HVAC, industrial plant services, or similar)
- Strong strategic planning, financial acumen, and decision-making skills
- Excellent relationship-building and business development skills
- Exceptional communication and leadership abilities
- Willingness to travel as necessary
Base salary of $175,000–$225,000, depending on experience, plus performance-based bonuses and a strong benefits package.
