We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Certified Professional Coder to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Accurately code diagnoses and procedures using ICD-9, ICD-10, and CPT coding systems.
- Review medical records to ensure proper documentation and coding compliance.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any discrepancies in medical documentation.
- Utilize EMR and EHR systems to manage patient information and coding data effectively.
- Stay updated on changes in medical coding regulations and practices to ensure compliance.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Requirements
- Certification as a Professional Coder (CPC, CCS, or equivalent) or 3 years in medical coding
- Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with EMR and EHR systems for effective record management is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Ability to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals regarding coding queries and clarifications.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
