Job Title: Benefits Service Support | Health Insurance Brokerage
Location: Santa Cruz, CA (In office with potential for some remote work in the future)
Pay: higher starting rate considered for candidates with relevant experience
Schedule: Office‑based / Hybrid (adjust as applicable)

Position Summary
We are seeking a Benefits Service Support to join our growing health insurance brokerage. This is an entry‑level role ideal for someone who is detail‑oriented, client‑focused, and interested in building a career in employee benefits and health insurance. You’ll support our service team with daily benefits administration tasks and help ensure a smooth experience for our clients. This position is part‑time year‑round, with the opportunity for additional hours during peak periods, including the fourth quarter (Q4).

Key Responsibilities

  • Support account managers and team members with client service work
  • Assist with enrollments, terminations, and benefit changes
  • Prepare materials for open enrollment and client meetings
  • Schedule client appointments during Q4 open enrollment
  • Review and process applications, forms, and documentation
  • Maintain accurate client records in agency systems
  • Track and follow up on pending items
  • Provide administrative and office support

Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of health insurance or willingness to learn
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook and Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and organization
  • Clear communication skills
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus

Preferred

  • California Life and Health Insurance License or willingness to obtain
  • Experience in a health insurance agency or brokerage
  • Customer service or administrative experience
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12.0 – 25 per week
