About Us
Our company is a licensed childcare center with over 25 years of serving Austin families. We provide a safe, nurturing, and developmentally rich environment for children ages 6 weeks through school age. Under new ownership, we are growing our team and looking for an experienced Assistant Director to help lead our center into its next chapter.
About the Role
The Assistant Director works alongside our Director to ensure smooth daily operations, regulatory compliance, and an exceptional experience for children and families. This is a leadership role with real responsibility and room to grow.
What You Will Do
- Support the Director in managing daily center operations including staff supervision and classroom oversight
- Ensure full compliance with Texas HHSC minimum standards and maintain all required licensing documentation
- Assist with staff hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and performance management
- Build positive relationships with enrolled families and respond to concerns promptly
- Support curriculum implementation across all classrooms from infant through school age
- Oversee health and safety protocols including emergency procedures and incident reporting
- Assist with enrollment management and tours for prospective families
- Administer subsidy program documentation including BakerRipley and Texas Rising Stars
- Serve as acting Director in the Director's absence
What We Are Looking For
- Minimum 2 years of experience in childcare or early childhood education
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
- Knowledge of Texas HHSC childcare licensing standards is preferred
- Current CPR and first aid certification
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to pass criminal background check and meet all HHSC staff requirements
- Experience with ProCare software a plus
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
