Position Overview
The 2nd Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations during the second shift, ensuring productivity, safety, and quality standards are met. This role involves supervising staff, coordinating workflow, and maintaining effective communication between shifts and management.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership - Supervise, coach, and motivate second-shift employees to achieve performance goals.
- Assign tasks and monitor progress to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
- Operations Management - Oversee production schedules, staffing, and workflow to meet deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Quality Assurance - Monitor product quality and address issues promptly.
- Implement corrective actions to maintain standards.
- Communication - Serve as the primary point of contact for second-shift staff.
- Provide shift handoff reports to first and third shift supervisors and management.
- Problem-Solving - Address operational challenges and resolve employee concerns.
- Escalate issues to management when necessary.
- Administrative Duties - Track attendance, performance, and productivity metrics.
- Assist with scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (associate or bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience in heavy machinery manufacturing or related field
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of safety standards and compliance requirements.
Work Schedule
- Full-time position, primarily covering second shift hours
