Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced 2nd Shift Machine Shop Department Supervisor to lead our metal fabrication operations. This hands-on role oversees all aspects of milling and turning operations. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of metal manufacturing, strong leadership skills, and the ability to drive quality, safety, and efficiency within the department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of machine operator personnel
- Program, set up, and troubleshoot CNC fabrication equipment as needed.
- Ensure parts meet engineering specifications and quality standards.
- Manage workflow to meet production schedules and delivery deadlines.
- Train and mentor team members on equipment operation, safety, and quality procedures.
- Monitor tool wear, maintenance schedules, and inventory of raw materials.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, welding, and assembly departments to ensure smooth production flow.
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives in quality, efficiency, and safety.
Qualifications:
- 7 years of experience in machining.
- 3 years of experience in a lead or supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of CNC programming, machine setup, and fabrication processes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to safety, precision, and teamwork.
