Position Summary
The Performance Manager is responsible for ensuring scheduled shifts are filled with qualified security and loss prevention personnel while maintaining appropriate staffing levels across assigned client locations.
This position works closely with senior leadership, recruiting, scheduling, Human Resources, and other operational partners to maintain workforce readiness and service standards. The Performance Manager will also support ongoing recruiting and interviewing efforts to maintain a strong pipeline of qualified security professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage scheduling, roll call, and on-call security personnel for assigned client locations.
- Maintain adequate staffing levels and proactively address current and anticipated coverage needs.
- Ensure security personnel are properly trained on applicable time and attendance systems and procedures.
- Monitor overtime and implement effective scheduling practices to support operational and financial objectives.
- Review client staffing requests and ensure assigned personnel meet applicable client and organizational standards.
- Monitor attendance and address lateness, excessive call-outs, and no-call/no-show occurrences in accordance with company policies.
- Partner with Human Resources on employee counseling, corrective action, disciplinary matters, and investigations as appropriate.
- Monitor employee performance in partnership with internal teams and clients, documenting performance concerns and supporting appropriate corrective action.
- Proactively adjust standby and coverage plans based on holidays, weather conditions, staffing trends, and anticipated call-outs.
- Partner with recruiting teams to interview candidates as needed and ensure newly hired personnel are appropriately scheduled following completion of required training.
- Follow up with new hires to support successful integration into ongoing schedules and assignments.
- Develop and implement strategies designed to improve employee retention and reduce turnover.
- Identify high-performing employees with potential for advancement and development opportunities.
- Partner with Payroll and Human Resources regarding applicable employee changes and payroll-related matters.
- Respond promptly to employee payroll discrepancies and work with appropriate partners toward resolution.
- Coordinate with recruiting and operational partners regarding field visits, recruiting efforts, client needs, employee coaching, retraining, and corrective action follow-up.
- Utilize designated workforce and field management applications to document site and field visits.
- Respond with urgency to client concerns and ensure identified deficiencies are appropriately documented, communicated, and addressed.
- Follow up on client concerns with appropriate corrective actions, including coaching, training, or additional operational support.
- Ensure compliance with post orders, uniform standards, training requirements, licensing requirements, and applicable policies and procedures.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support operational and client needs.
Qualifications and Requirements
- 2–3 years of experience in recruiting, workforce management, operations, security management, or a related leadership role.
- Previous experience managing or coordinating a high-volume, hourly workforce strongly preferred.
- Strong scheduling, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively manage employee performance and staffing challenges in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and client service skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Recruiting, Human Resources, Payroll, and Operations.
- Ability to respond with urgency to changing staffing and client needs.
- Local travel is required.
- Must be willing to participate in the employer’s pre-employment screening process and continuously meet applicable state, county, and municipal requirements.
