What are the responsibilities and job description for the Agentic UI/UX Designer position at Confidential EdTech Management?
Founding Product Designer
We are building the next generation of end-to-end learning experiences for students and teachers. We believe teaching and learning should center around experiences and growth, not workflows and buttons.
Our first generation learning platform has gained rapid adoption, but we’re only getting started. To continue creating learning experiences that are even more impactful and frictionless, we need a hands on design leader who can help us work from end-state to current-state and help us design and build forward, as we build and grow our platform far beyond its current capabilities and reach.
Why this role exists
Our platform is evolving from our core set of teacher and student assistance tools to a cohesive platform. As our first in-house designer, you’ll translate the product vision into an executable design strategy and roadmap, craft the core student/teacher experiences, and stand up the systems and rituals that help a small team deliver big impact.
What You’ll Do
Strategy & Vision
- Alongside the Product Owner, convert our vision into a phased now/next/later roadmap that sequences value and reduces complexity.
- Partner with our leaders, teams, and stake holders to define experience and design principles for agentic AI.
- Partner with Product to shape bets, tradeoffs, and success metrics; influence the backlog and release plan.
Product Design
- Design clean, intuitive, and engaging interfaces for our student- and teacher-facing products aligned with current branding design guides.
- Turn complex AI-driven processes into simple, trustworthy, contextualized, and easy-to-use experiences.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and design systems to support rapid development and iteration.
- Conduct user testing, gather feedback, and make data-driven design improvement and own the entire user experience.
- Work collaboratively with Product to move from concepts to designs.
AI & Agentic Systems
- Work with our engineers and product team to design a seamless multi-step AI agent user experience.
- Innovate ways to help users understand, interact with, and trust AI-driven tools and workflows.
- Stay ahead of the curve on AI and UX best practices, bringing fresh ideas to the team.
Leadership & Vendor Management
- Be a player-coach: write briefs, delegate to contractors, manage timelines/budgets.
- Coach PM/Eng; create shared rituals (design reviews, demos) that raise quality without slowing delivery.
Marketing Design (Occasional)
- Design visual assets for social media, newsletters, presentations, and landing pages.
- Support the marketing team in keeping our brand modern, clean, and consistent.
- Create graphics that tell our story to schools, districts, and partners.
What We’re Looking For
- 5–8 years in product design (SaaS/EdTech/AI) with evidence of systems thinking across multiple modalities (interactive, content, workflows).
- Strong portfolio showing user flows, wireframes, and pixel-perfect interfaces.
- Proficiency in Figma (preferred), plus tools like Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar.
- A solid understanding of AI-driven platforms.
- Excellent understanding of design and interaction patterns for conversational and agentic AI.
- HTML/CSS/JS knowledge with ability to create strong engineer handoff.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills — we’re a startup, and everyone wears multiple hats.
- Experience leading contractors/vendors; excellent writing and async communication.
Bonus Points For
- Experience in education technology or a passion for helping students and teachers.
- Motion or interaction design skills to make interfaces feel dynamic and alive.
- A track record of designing for scalability and rapid iteration in fast-moving environments.
