Staff Accountant

An established and growing company is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its Finance team. This role reports to senior finance leadership and offers exposure to a broad range of accounting and operational finance functions. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Compensation: $60k - $70k DOE, Full benefits package

Location: Hybrid – Cleveland, OH

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day cash application and collections activities
• Maintain customer and vendor records, reporting, and documentation
• Prepare general ledger journal entries
• Support recurring payment and reconciliation processes
• Assist with month-end close activities and financial reporting
• Analyze and reconcile balance sheet accounts
• Assist with external audit support
• Identify and recommend process improvements and operational efficiencies
• Ensure accurate revenue and expense recognition in accordance with GAAP/IFRS
• Perform ongoing reporting, analysis, and ad hoc projects as needed

Pre-requisites

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• Minimum 2 years of relevant accounting experience
• CPA or CMA designation preferred
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
• Experience with accounting software such as Great Plains, QuickBooks, or similar ERP systems preferred
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
