Job Summary
The Staff Accountant is responsible for executing established accounting processes with accuracy and efficiency. This role supports a broad range of accounting functions that contribute to the preparation of the Company’s financial statements, including supporting schedules and analysis of data within the general ledger. The position also plays a key role in identifying opportunities to enhance process efficiency and improve data compilation and reporting workflows.

Period close is every 4 weeks (additional hours required during close week)

Job Summary
The Staff Accountant is responsible for executing established accounting processes with accuracy and efficiency. This role supports a broad range of accounting functions that contribute to the preparation of the Company’s financial statements, including supporting schedules and analysis of data within the general ledger. The position also plays a key role in identifying opportunities to enhance process efficiency and improve data compilation and reporting workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform reconciliations of income statement and balance sheet accounts, including bank reconciliations.
- Perform weekly credit card and bank reconciliations, resolving discrepancies to maintain accurate records.
- Apply ACH and check payments to customer accounts, ensuring timely and accurate posting.
- Assist with the monthly close process on a four-week cycle, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
- Compile data and generate recurring and ad hoc reports, including facilities and weekly sales reporting.
- Investigate and resolve credit card disputes in a timely manner.
- Coordinate sales and use tax filings, as well as other applicable local tax filings.
- Prepare and submit census and other regulatory reporting.
- Utilize financial systems to develop, maintain, and enhance reporting templates and data queries.
- Collaborate with finance team members on special projects and cross-functional initiatives.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation is not required.
- Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel (advanced skills and VBA experience preferred), Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact across all levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to build collaborative working relationships and contribute effectively to a team environment.
