About the role
A well-established regional CPA firm based in Woodbury, NY is seeking a Senior Tax Associate to join its Private Client Group. This is a hands-on tax compliance role serving a sophisticated high net worth clientele. You will work directly under a Partner and Manager, take meaningful ownership of client relationships, and operate as a core member of a close-knit, collaborative team. The position is 4 days per week in office.
What you'll do
- Prepare complex high net worth individual federal and multi-state income tax returns, including returns with brokerage activity and Schedule K-1s from partnerships, S-corps, and trusts
- Assist in the preparation of fiduciary income tax returns for trusts and estates
- Support preparation of business entity returns (partnerships, S-corps, C-corps) as needed
- Manage client workbooks and engagement documentation in Excel
- Prepare returns using the Lacerte tax software platform
- Communicate directly with clients regarding return preparation, open items, and tax planning matters
- Collaborate within the Private Client Service group on shared engagements
What we're looking for
- 2–5 years of public accounting experience, with a focus on individual income tax compliance for high net worth clients
- Hands-on experience with multi-state returns, brokerage statements, and Schedule K-1s
- Exposure to fiduciary and business entity return preparation is a plus
- Proficiency in Lacerte and Excel; comfort working with structured client workbooks
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; confidence interacting directly with clients
- CPA preferred; CPA candidates actively pursuing licensure will be considered
- Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with the ability to thrive in a group setting

Compensation
- $120,000-$150,000 base discretionary bonus
