About the Role
We are seeking a Human Resources Manager to join our team in Lexington, Kentucky. The Human Resources Manager must have a proven talent for providing support and leadership to the whole HR team, as well as developing and implementing HR policies and procedures. A successful candidate will have the ability to use creativity and problem solving when presented with obstacles, and the desire to contribute to a team that is committed to furthering business operations across multiple locations.
Responsibilities
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
- Leads and strategizes recruitment and staffing; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Conducts new hire orientation in collaboration with other departments.
- Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications and reviews for results.
- Design and implement an enterprise-wide employee relations framework that promotes fairness, accountability, and consistency.
- Serve as the primary liaison between management and union representatives.
- Develop proactive labor relations strategies to foster collaborative union partnerships.
- Interpret and administer collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) to ensure compliance and consistency.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Lead investigations into complex employee relations matters (harassment, discrimination, policy violations).
- Provide strategic coaching to local leaders on performance management, conflict resolution, and workforce risk mitigation.
- Analyze employee relations trends (complaints, turnover, absenteeism, disciplinary actions) and recommend preventative actions.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of full-cycle Recruiting experience
- Union/CBA experience
- Labor Relations or Employee Relations experience
