The total compensation for this role includes a base salary range of $120,000–$180,000, along with a performance-driven incentive structure tied to business development outcomes.
As a DIRECTOR of BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT, this role could include:
- Source new business opportunities and strategic partnerships across industries including marketing, events, entertainment, and consumer brands.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior decision-makers such as Vice Presidents and Chief Executives.
- Identify opportunities where the Company’s apparel and merchandise solutions can support brand initiatives, campaigns, or event activations.
- Drive the full business development lifecycle, including prospecting, relationship nurturing, deal development, and closing.
- Build a consistent pipeline of new clients and partnerships through proactive outreach, networking, and industry engagement.
- Leverage LinkedIn and other professional channels to generate qualified leads and initiate meaningful conversations with target stakeholders.
- Work closely with the CEO to align partnership opportunities with company growth strategy.
- Maintain long-term relationships with clients to encourage repeat business, ongoing partnerships, and expanded opportunities.
- Identify cross-industry collaboration opportunities that strengthen the Company’s brand presence and business network.
Required Competencies
- 7 years of proven experience in business development, partnerships, or strategic sales, preferably within marketing, events, apparel, merchandise, or brand partnership environments.
- Demonstrated success managing and growing a portfolio of client relationships valued at $1M in annual revenue or equivalent partnership pipelines.
- Proven ability to source, develop, and close new business opportunities while maintaining long-term strategic partnerships.
- Track record of building and nurturing client relationships that lead to repeat business and revenue expansion.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate effectively in a performance-driven and commission-based environment.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills with experience engaging C-suite and executive-level clients.
- Ability to identify strategic partnerships and align brands, events, and organizations with the Company’s apparel and merchandise capabilities.
