Job Description


Senior Accountant


The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing the full-cycle accounting functions for a diverse portfolio of entities, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all financial data. This role requires managing the month-end close process, performing detailed reconciliations, and preparing comprehensive financial statements for multiple portfolios.


Responsibilities


  • Lead and execute the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes for multiple portfolios, including the preparation and posting of journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions across assigned portfolios.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, for each portfolio.
  • Maintain the general ledger, ensuring its accuracy and consistency by reviewing transactions, posting entries, and reconciling accounts.
  • Perform detailed balance sheet and income statement reconciliations, analyzing variances and resolving discrepancies.
  • Track and reconcile intercompany transactions and consolidated financials across multiple entities.
  • Research and apply appropriate accounting treatment for new and existing investment strategies or business transactions.
  • Monitor portfolio cash balances, manage cash flow, and perform monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Assist in the annual budgeting and forecasting processes for the assigned portfolios.
  • Implement and improve accounting processes and internal controls to increase efficiency and safeguard company assets.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff, reviewing their work and fostering professional development.


Qualifications


  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: 7-10 or more years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in the preparation of financial statements
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) is required.


Skills


  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
  • Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet stringent deadlines
