Responsibilities
- Record, verify, and consolidate all accounting transactions to ensure the general ledger is accurate and complete.
- Execute the month-end and year-end closing processes, including the preparation and posting of adjusting journal entries and accruals.
- Prepare accurate balance sheets, income statements, and other standardized accounting reports in accordance with GAAP.
- Conduct regular reconciliations of bank accounts, subsidiary ledgers, and balance sheet accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Manage the fixed asset register, including recording acquisitions, calculating depreciation, and processing disposals.
- Prepare work papers, schedules, and supporting documentation to facilitate internal and external accounting audits.
- Review and verify the accuracy of accounts payable and accounts receivable postings to ensure they align with the general ledger.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- 1-2 years of progressive experience in a corporate or public accounting environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced knowledge of spreadsheet applications for data organization.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal accounting controls.
- Certification: Professional accounting certification (such as CPA) is preferred but not required.
Salary : $80,000 - $85,000
