A well-established and growing manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead all aspects of plant operations and drive excellence across safety, quality, productivity, and employee engagement. This is a key leadership role responsible for aligning manufacturing performance with strategic business objectives while fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

Position Overview

The Plant Manager will provide overall leadership for a manufacturing facility, overseeing operations, production planning, quality systems, safety initiatives, maintenance programs, and workforce development. The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader with a proven track record of building high-performing teams and improving manufacturing performance.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Leadership

• Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective production.
• Develop and execute production plans that support on-time delivery and customer satisfaction goals.
• Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) including productivity, quality, downtime, and operational efficiency.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on lean manufacturing, waste reduction, and process optimization.
• Support new product introductions and manufacturing scalability.
• Evaluate automation opportunities and operational improvements that enhance productivity and profitability.
• Develop a culture of accountability, teamwork, engagement, and continuous learning.
• Lead workforce planning, talent development, hiring, training, and performance management activities.

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure products consistently meet customer expectations and quality standards.
• Support and enhance quality management systems.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives to address quality concerns.

Safety & Environmental Leadership

• Champion a strong safety culture with a commitment to incident prevention.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations.
• Lead incident investigations and drive timely corrective actions.

Financial & Business Performance

• Manage operational budgets and support forecasting efforts.
• Drive cost-saving initiatives while maintaining safety, quality, and service standards.
• Partner with leadership on inventory management and supply chain optimization.
• Identify opportunities to improve profitability and operational effectiveness.

Maintenance & Reliability

• Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
• Support capital investments, facility improvements, and equipment installations.

Qualifications

Required Experience

• 15 years of manufacturing or production leadership experience.
• At least 7 years of progressive plant management or operations leadership experience.
• Strong background in machining, fabrication, coating, and assembly operations.
• Demonstrated success leading manufacturing teams in a fast-paced environment.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience within custom machinery, industrial equipment, or capital equipment manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with machine safety standards and risk assessment processes.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
