The Manufacturing Engineering Manager (Plastic Injection Tooling and Molding) is responsible for leading and supporting all engineering activities, including tooling, automation, project management, and injection molding processes. This role focuses on analyzing and optimizing current production operations, evaluating project and process improvement initiatives, and providing hands-on support throughout the full manufacturing lifecycle. The Manufacturing Engineering Manager drives the execution of efficient, cost-effective manufacturing methods and processes, from initial planning through final implementation, ensuring high-quality, scalable production.
Responsibilities:
- Lead Tooling team to achieve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) objectives and project deliverables
- Lead with the Operations Manager to develop tooling and manufacturing processes, techniques, and equipment utilization to improve productivity overall
- Perform as engineering technical liaison to customers on all related program activity.
- Track mold builds and engineering changes on both new and existing projects.
- Reduce tool build bounce-backs, increase first-off trial success – working closely with process engineers
- Adherence to ISO 13485 procedures.
- Assist in quality CAPAs and Validations.
- Utilized continuous improvement, lean and six sigma tools to reach OEE standards.
- Direct the tooling team’s daily operations and set the schedule to meet customer requirements and timelines
Experience:
- 15 years’ experience with plastic injection tooling and molding required
- Experience in the medical device industry or ISO 13485 environment is desirable
- Experience using Solidworks, Creo/Cimatron desired
- Strong problem solving and lean manufacturing skills
- Process & results driven

- Bachelor degree in related discipline preferred
- Formal Education in Six Sigma, Lean, and leadership preferred
