Law Firm Administrator / PLA
Overview:
The Law Firm Administrator is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the firm’s business operations, systems, and staff. This position works closely with firm leadership to ensure the firm operates efficiently, compliantly, and profitably while supporting growth and long-term strategy. The firm anticipates future mergers or acquisitions and is seeking someone comfortable leading through that type of change.
Firm Operations and Leadership:
- Lead, manage, coach, and supervise all staff across operations, finance, sales, marketing, legal support, and administrative teams.
- Partner with firm leadership on business planning, budgeting, staffing, systems, and facilities planning.
- Maintain and improve firmwide processes to support efficiency, accountability, and scalability.
Human Resources:
- Manage recruitment, hiring, onboarding, performance management, and termination for all staff.
- Oversee administrative aspects of attorney hiring in coordination with firm leadership.
- Ensure job descriptions, KPIs, and organizational charts are current.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and HR best practices.
- Oversee payroll and benefits administration.
Systems, Finance, and Risk:
- Oversee and continuously improve core firm systems, including intake, sales, legal workflow, billing, collections, accounting, HR, and internal communication.
- Monitor financial operations, budgeting, reporting, trust accounting review, billing, collections, and expense management.
- Work closely with the firm’s CFO, controller, bookkeeper, and external vendors.
- Identify operational risks and implement corrective solutions.
Facilities, Technology, and Change Management:
- Oversee office operations, facilities, equipment, and vendor relationships.
- Ensure employees have the tools and technology needed to perform effectively.
- Play a key role in planning and executing mergers or acquisitions, including system integration, workflow alignment, and change management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Significant leadership experience in a professional services environment.
- Prior law firm experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with budgeting, financial oversight, and HR management.
- Merger and acquisition experience strongly preferred, as the firm anticipates future growth through M&A.
Salary : $130,000 - $250,000
