Financial Analyst

**This is a local position where you will be REQUIRED to work daily. You will be able to Work-From-Home (WFH) the majority of the time, but will be required to travel as necessary to Rochester, NY. Applicants MUST be located within New York State. Anyone applying outside of NYS will not be considered.**

Job Description:

The ideal candidate will be highly proficient in Sage/Sage Intacct and bring strong experience in project-based accounting, with a proactive mindset and exceptional attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all accounting operations, including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, and Revenue Recognition
• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process to ensure timely and accurate reporting
• Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflow
• Prepare and publish timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts; report variances
• Work closely with the owners on strategic financial initiatives, including fundraising, capital allocation, and expansion plans
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
• Partner with external auditors, tax advisors, and other consultants as needed
• Implement and manage financial systems and automation to support scaling operations
• MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH PROJECT-BASED ACCOUNTING
• Other duties as required

Requirements and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required
• Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience
• Experience in a high-growth, technology or energy-related industry preferred
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage accounting teams
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAGE Intacct and QuickBooks Online, and potentially other ERP systems)
• Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
• Passion for sustainability, clean energy, or electric mobility is a plus

Compensation:

• Salary of $80k-$120k Annually (depending on experience)
• Company 401k Match Program (5% Employee Contribution = 4% Employer Match) up to a maximum Employer $ Match of $5,000 per year
• Health Insurance (Employer Covers 80% of Monthly Plan Cost, in a Tiered System)
