Offset Press Operator:Position Overview: The Offset Press Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient operation and changeover of a large-format offset printing press. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain consistent print quality while meeting production goals in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Qualifications & Skills:3 years of experience operating a wide-web or large-format offset printing press (preferably Heidelberg, sheet-fed, multi-color). High school diploma or equivalent. Strong leadership qualities, initiative, and a team-focused mindset. Solid written and verbal communication skills. Mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving ability. Working Conditions Manufacturing environment with extended periods of standing. Frequent lifting of materials up to 15 lbs to waist level; occasional lifting up to chest level. No overhead lifting required; heavier loads require team lift or mechanical assistance. Mandatory PPE: safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toe boots, gloves, hair nets, and beard nets. Must be willing to work rotating 12-hour day/night shifts, including weekends and overtime as required.Key Responsibilities:Perform full machine make-ready procedures, including loading plates, ink, coating, and board. Set, control, and adjust machine functions (speed, ink/water settings, etc.). Verify raw materials are correct for each job based on docket and technical specifications. Inspect printed sheets at scheduled intervals to ensure quality standards are met. Complete periodic cleaning and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal press performance. Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during production. Maintain accurate records of approved materials, defective units, and final product counts. Accurately document production and quality logs throughout the shift. Document all printed loads for both production and quality purposes. Prepare for and keep the press running during Feeder Operator breaks. Review job tickets thoroughly and follow instructions with accuracy. Execute all assigned work efficiently and on schedule. Inspect finished products to ensure they match supplied samples and meet quality benchmarks. Perform routine adjustments during production runs to maintain throughput and quality. Conduct troubleshooting and preventive maintenance as necessary. Maintain make-ready and run standards throughout each job. Record production data, including time spent on tasks or jobs. Lead and oversee the crew working on the gluer machine. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Follow all standard operating procedures relevant to the department and role. Train co-workers on equipment setup and operation as required. Perform additional duties as assigned.Qualifications & Skills 3 years of experience operating a folder/gluer machine. The operator ensures production quality, machine performance, documentation accuracy, and adherence to safety and manufacturing standards.Key Responsibilities Set up die cutter machines accurately and within scheduled timeframes. Operate roll-fed or sheet-fed die cutting equipment at or above required speeds. Perform troubleshooting and routine preventive maintenance. Inspect outputs to ensure cutting accuracy and product quality. Review docket details and complete all production documentation. Communicate break schedules and anticipated overtime to the crew. Provide training to team members as needed. Record waste numbers every two hours and support waste-reduction goals. Maintain and enforce safe work practices across the production floor. Perform additional duties as assigned.Qualifications & Skills Minimum 3 years of experience operating roll-fed or sheet-fed die cutters or similar machinery. High school diploma or equivalent. Operate the press at or above the required speed while maintaining high-quality output. Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform preventive maintenance as needed. Identify, analyze, and correct print defects during operation. Mix, match, and evaluate ink quality prior to and during production runs. Ensure all finished products meet quality standards and job specifications. Monitor and record waste data throughout the shift. Guide the crew on when product should be approved or rejected. Manage all pallet samples and ensure proper documentation. Complete all production and quality forms accurately and submit them at shift end. Follow proper procedures for ERP system entries related to press operations. Enforce safety practices and ensure crew compliance with safety policies. Communicate scheduled breaks and any anticipated overtime to the team. Train crew members when time permits.
