About the Opportunity
A private equity-backed provider of specialty services supporting defense and industrial sectors is seeking a Vice President of Finance to serve as a strategic business partner to the CFO, executive leadership team, and private equity sponsors. This role will lead FP&A, treasury, M&A execution, sponsor reporting, and value creation initiatives across a multi-entity organization.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis
• Lead the annual operating plan (AOP), long-range planning, and forecasting processes.
• Develop executive reporting for revenue, EBITDA, cash flow, and capital expenditures.
• Deliver variance analysis and actionable business insights to senior leadership.
• Manage periodic business reviews and forecasting cycles.
• Provide strategic financial analysis to support key business decisions.
Business Partnership
• Serve as a trusted financial advisor to operating company presidents and functional leaders.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, pricing, and operational decision-making.
• Develop scenario models and financial analyses to identify risks and opportunities.
• Translate financial performance into actionable operational recommendations.
Private Equity & Board Reporting
• Partner with executive leadership and ownership groups on financial performance reporting.
• Prepare board presentations, quarterly reviews, and investor materials.
• Support value creation initiatives and portfolio benchmarking efforts.
• Monitor covenant compliance and communicate business performance to stakeholders.
Mergers & Acquisitions
• Support acquisition opportunities from diligence through integration.
• Lead financial integration activities for newly acquired businesses.
• Assist with purchase price adjustments, earn-out tracking, and transaction reporting.
• Standardize reporting and planning processes across acquired entities.
Treasury & Liquidity Management
• Oversee cash management, liquidity forecasting, and working capital optimization.
• Manage revolving credit facilities and lender relationships.
• Monitor debt compliance and covenant reporting requirements.
• Support funding needs for growth initiatives and capital investments.
Capital Investment Management
• Lead capital expenditure planning and approval processes.
• Evaluate investments through ROI and financial return analysis.
• Track capital spending and project performance against plan.
• Partner with operational leaders to prioritize strategic investments.
Tax, Audit & Compliance
• Coordinate with accounting leadership and external advisors on tax strategy and compliance.
• Support annual audits and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Maintain strong financial controls and governance processes.
• Ensure compliance with lender, sponsor, and government contracting requirements.
Leadership
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Conduct performance evaluations and support career development planning.
• Build organizational capabilities to support continued growth.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required.
• MBA and/or CPA preferred.
• 10 years of progressive finance leadership experience.
• Experience within a private equity-backed or sponsor-owned organization.
• Strong FP&A, treasury, and strategic finance experience.
• M&A diligence and post-acquisition integration experience.
• Experience managing debt facilities, liquidity planning, and covenant compliance.
• Government contracting experience (DCAA, GSA, or similar) strongly preferred.
• Excellent communication and executive presentation skills.
• Proven ability to influence stakeholders across finance, operations, and ownership groups.

Salary : $220,000 - $275,000
