Job Duties
- Work with tool shops to ensure Simulations, Strip Layouts, and Designs are completed on schedule
- Manage design reviews with customer
- Identify opportunities for design and process improvements
- Support tech reviews with customer
- Obtain customer approvals for Simulations, Strip Layouts, and Designs prior to tool shop OK to Tool
- Ensure smooth handoff to Build Engineer by completing Ok To Tool milestone specific tools and communicating to them directly that tool shops should begin the build
- Support Build Engineering Team as required
- Support home line as required
- Troubleshoot product and die issues - post buyoff
- Travel to tool shops as required
- Respond to supplier and customer needs as required outside of normal business hours
- Reviewing and negotiating ECR costs and timing with die shop and customer
- Technical degree preferred or 4 years automotive experience.
- Four years automotive industry experience directly related to automotive die development
- Understanding of statistical applications to manufacturing processes
- Computer literacy to include Windows applications, Catia, UG, Microsoft Word, Excel, Mail Exchange
- Understanding of die processes, equipment, and practices.
- Understanding of GD&T, part processing, stamped & component processes
- Working knowledge of presses & die applications
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, oral and written.
- A dedication to teamwork and management by consensus and proactive in finding win-win solutions.
- Leadership and organizational skills
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously
- May be required to work extended hours on occasion.
