Your Responsibilities
As an OFP Assembly Manufacturing Engineer for John Deere Operations located in Waterloo, IA you will...
- Provide Assembly ME support and basic troubleshooting for current operations on the 7R Assembly Line.
- Research, initiate, and execute safety and ergonomic improvement activities and projects
- Act as a departmental Manufacturing Engineer (ME) in driving improvements to support our Distinctive Product Quality initiatives, drive continuous improvements in delivery, uptime, cost and efficiency with Natural Work Group engagement.
- Support implementation of new products and current product Continuous Improvement running design changes
- Lead the analysis, development and implementation of new manufacturing processes and technology aligned to the Smart Connect Factory strategy
- Support requirements for internal operating philosophy John Deere Quality and Production System (JD-QPS) and external requirements such as International Organization for Standardization (ISO)
What Skills You Need
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
- Effective communication skills
- Experience in a Manufacturing position supporting a Union workforce
- Experience developing and deploying operator work instructions
- Experience with process development, tooling design, fixturing and workstation layout
- Experience with Bill of Materials structure, build papers and ECN process execution
- Experience with John Deere Specific manufacturing software JDAAT (John Deere Assembly Assist Tool), MPP (Manufacturing Process Planner)
- Experience implementing change in a production environment through negotiation and conflict resolution
- Experience with standard data application, time study, line balance, cost/pay structure
- Experience with data analysis software
- Demonstrated Project Management skills
- Experience with work instruction software, SAP functions, RECON and other software tools
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering/Technology or equivalent work experience
