Accounting Specialist

ConEquip Parts - A World of Parts
Depew, NY Full Time
POSTED ON 6/29/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 12/23/2026

ConEquip Parts is growing—and we're looking for a detail-oriented, reliable, and motivated Accounting Specialist to join our accounting team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, solving problems, and ensuring financial information is accurate, organized, and timely.

You’ll play an important role in supporting the company’s day-to-day accounting operations and month-end close process. From account reconciliations to financial reporting support, your work will help ensure leadership has the accurate financial information needed to make confident business decisions.

This isn’t just a data-entry or transaction-processing role. This is a hands-on accounting position where accuracy, ownership, and consistency matter. You’ll collaborate closely with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Finance leadership to support a fast-moving, growing organization.

Who You Are

You’re highly detail-oriented and take pride in producing accurate, clean, and reliable financial work. You enjoy working with numbers, spotting discrepancies, and making sure everything ties out correctly.

You’re organized, dependable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities at once—especially during month-end close. You work well both independently and as part of a team, and you communicate clearly when something doesn’t look right or needs attention.

You’re also someone who understands that accounting isn’t just about balancing books—it’s about supporting the business with information it can trust.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations with accuracy and consistency
  • Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions as needed
  • Assist in processing and reconciling commission calculations for payroll
  • Reconcile freight and parcel invoicing and investigate discrepancies
  • Support the month-end close process, including journal entries and account analysis
  • Assist in preparing internal financial reports and supporting external reporting requests
  • Help maintain accounting controls by supporting policies, procedures, and documentation standards
  • Identify and escalate issues or inconsistencies in financial data when needed

Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in financial work
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to follow through on assignments
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working with spreadsheets and accounting systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, with ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Ability to interpret financial documents and apply sound judgment in analysis
  • Understanding of financial compliance standards and internal controls

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of accounting experience preferred
  • CPA or CMA certification is a plus
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered
