What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinic Patient Account Specialist position at ConeHealth?
The Clinic Patient Account Specialist is responsible for data entry, office and hospital charge capture, tracking and correcting registration errors and charge reconciliation, accounts receivable monitoring, patient credit services, and pre-certification services. Working under general supervision, this position also works with patients to answer their questions and resolve claims processing errors. The schedule for this position is Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm.
Essential Job Function:
- Helps answer patient inquiries regarding all insurance claims and transactions to patient accounts in order to provide high quality support.
- Supports with identifying and resolving any claims processing issues such as appeals, medical records requests, and coordination of benefits (COB) questionnaires and/or pre-existing condition questionnaires.
- Performs daily close activities such as depositing journals and reports, balancing monies and sending it through the cash track system, and taking any deposits as needed to the bank.
- Understands insurance, charge posting, payments, adjustments, denials and related information in the system and discuss this information with patients and insurance companies with intellect through customer service calls.
- Performs data entry for physician charges, ensuring amounts are entered correctly and in a timely manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
- Required: 1 year.
