Job Title: Sous Chef

Reports To: Executive Chef

Condesa is looking for friendly, outgoing and positive people to join our team! This position supports the Executive Chef in leading all culinary operations and delivering an exceptional dining experience consistent with high-end restaurant standards. This role oversees kitchen execution, team leadership, food quality, inventory management, and culinary consistency while maintaining an elevated level of service, presentation, and operational excellence. This hands-on, customer-facing position emphasizes speed, accuracy, teamwork, and adherence to health and safety protocols in a fast-paced setting. The role reports to the General Manager and involves no supervisory duties.
Requirements:
- Strong culinary leadership and kitchen management skills.
- Deep understanding of upscale dining standards and guest expectations.
- Ability to coach and motivate teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- High attention to detail and commitment to culinary excellence.
- Ability to communicate and interact professionally and effectively with customers and all team members.
- Must be able to use a computer for timekeeping and cash handling purposes.
- Possesses excellent time management skills and ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Good communication skills
- Complete understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies.
- Complete knowledge of all company security regulations and federal/state/local regulations relating to food safety.
- Ability to obtain any applicable certifications/licensures as required
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays and extended shifts as needed
Education & Experience:
- Culinary degree preferred or equivalent professional culinary training.
- 3–7 years of progressive culinary leadership experience
- Prior Sous Chef or kitchen management experience in upscale or fine dining preferred.
- Experience with food costing, inventory management, labor controls, and kitchen operations.
