Responsibilities
- Operate power washing equipment to thoroughly clean surfaces such as concrete, brick, and stone, removing dirt, grime, mold, and old coatings.
- Prepare surfaces prior to sealing or coating by cleaning, grinding, or etching as necessary to ensure proper adhesion.
- Apply concrete sealers evenly using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment to protect surfaces from weathering and staining.
- Install epoxy flooring systems by preparing the substrate, mixing epoxy components accurately, and applying coatings in a controlled manner for a smooth finish.
- Use hand tools and power tools to repair cracks or surface imperfections before sealing or coating applications.
- Read blueprints and schematics to understand project specifications and ensure precise application of coatings according to client requirements.
- Operate heavy equipment such as concrete mixers and pumps when necessary for larger projects involving concrete installation or restoration.
- Maintain all tools and equipment in excellent working condition through regular inspections and proper cleaning.
- Follow safety protocols diligently on all job sites, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate with team members and clients to ensure project timelines are met while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Document work progress with detailed reports and communicate any issues or delays promptly to supervisors.
Requirements
- Proven experience in power washing, concrete sealing, epoxy flooring installation, or related construction trades.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate power tools, heavy equipment, and scaffolding safely.
- Familiarity with construction estimating, blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and surface preparation techniques.
- Knowledge of masonry, concrete finishing techniques, tile laying, plastering, stucco application, caulking, trim carpentry, metal stud framing, roofing basics, welding, flooring installation, restoration processes, heavy lifting methods, and heavy equipment operation is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting and working at heights in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s class E (Missouri) class C (Kansas) license for commercial driving if required for transporting equipment or materials.
- Prior experience working on construction sites with a focus on safety compliance is preferred.
