- Ensure content follows CPH house style and The Chicago Manual of Style
- Verify facts, sources, and copyright information for quotes and references
- Collaborate with developmental editors on substantive edits
- Write or revise copy when requested
- Review final pages for typographical and layout issues
- Meet deadlines while staying within project budgets
- Serve as a resource for house style and language usage when needed
We're seeking a thoughtful, detail‑oriented editor who values both accuracy and mission:
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, English, theology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 1 year of editing experience
- Strong command of English grammar and usage
- Familiarity with The Chicago Manual of Style (preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe InDesign
- Excellent organizational and deadline‑management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate clearly in writing
- Knowledge of LCMS theology and culture (preferred)
