Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead daily manufacturing operations in an automotive stamping environment. This position is responsible for achieving safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost objectives while developing a strong team and driving continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage daily stamping operations, including production scheduling, staffing, capacity, and workflow.
- Drive performance in safety, quality, delivery, productivity, scrap, downtime, and cost.
- Lead and develop Supervisors, Team Leaders, and production employees; promote accountability and cross-training.
- Monitor production and operational KPIs and implement corrective actions when targets are not met.
- Ensure production follows approved work instructions, control plans, standardized work, and quality requirements.
- Support IATF 16949 activities including APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, corrective action, and problem solving.
- Support ISO 14001 environmental objectives, operational controls, audits, and corrective actions.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, standard work, and waste reduction.
- Support equipment reliability, preventive maintenance, tooling needs, and capacity improvements.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- 5 - 10 years of operations manager experience, preferably in automotive stamping or metal forming.
- Strong knowledge of stamping operations, presses, dies, automation, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 management systems.
- Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, and structured problem-solving.
- Experience leading supervisors and hourly manufacturing teams.
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement.
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations, Business, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
