Overview

The Housing & Resource Center Team Member provides direct support to individuals experiencing homelessness & housing instability. These positions work collaboratively with clients to identify needs, access resources, secure and maintain housing, and connect with community services. Team members may work in housing-focused roles, resource center operations, or a combination of both, depending on agency needs.

The ideal candidate is compassionate, organized, self-motivated, and able to maintain professional boundaries while building supportive relationships with clients.

Responsibilities

  • Client Support
  • Welcome and engage clients in a respectful, trauma-informed manner.

Housing Support

  • Assist clients with housing searches, applications, and housing-related documentation.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with landlords, property managers, and housing providers.
  • Help coordinate rental assistance and other stabilization resources.
  • Provide ongoing support to housed clients, including rental assistance coordination, appointment reminders, budgeting support, landlord communication, and referrals to community providers.
  • Support clients in maintaining housing and addressing challenges that may threaten housing stability.

Documentation and Data Management

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete client records and case notes.
  • Enter and manage data within agency databases and reporting systems.
  • Ensure compliance with agency policies, confidentiality requirements, and funding guidelines.
  • Experience with HMIS, Salesforce, or similar database systems is preferred but not required.

Collaboration and Professionalism

  • Work collaboratively with coworkers, community partners, landlords, and service providers.
  • Participate in team meetings, trainings, and agency initiatives.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills and effective communication.
  • Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality at all times.
  • Utilize a strengths-based, client-centered approach when working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Conduct client intakes, assessments, and service planning.
  • Assist clients in identifying goals and overcoming barriers to housing and stability.
  • Provide information, referrals, and connections to community resources and support services.
  • Support clients with access to benefits, healthcare, employment services, transportation, food resources, and other community programs.
  • Maintain a welcoming, safe, and respectful environment within the resource center.
  • Monitor and support daily operations of client services areas.

Experience Required

  • High School Diploma with 2-3 years experience working with vulnerable populations, Associate’s degree.
  • Experience in customer service, human services, social services, housing programs, community outreach, or related fields.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to treating all individuals with dignity and respect.

Preferred

  • Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, housing instability, mental health challenges, or substance use disorders.
  • Knowledge of local housing and community resources.
  • Experience with HMIS, Salesforce, or other case management databases.
  • Familiarity with housing stability and trauma-informed care practices.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
